Postal Search Service
We are able to offer a postal search service for members of the public who are unable to visit the department in person.The staff employed at Teesside Archives are familiar with the records available and so are able to offer an expert search service.
We are also a member of the North East Archives Research Network.This website allows members of the public to ask for advice from all of the record offices of the north east simultaneously. Please follow the link on the right hand side for external website.
Deciphering & Translating Services
Many family and local historians at some point in their researches have problems with either old handwriting which is difficult to understand, or with Latin which was in common use until the eighteenth century.We are able to offer help to members of the public with deciphering old handwriting and with translating Latin documents into English.
