Dads and male carers across Middlesbrough are welcomed into all our sessions.

To support this special bond our dad’s workers run sessions specifically for dad’s. These groups can help you see and understand how your children learn through play. Sessions may give you ideas of activities you can do with your children at home. It can also be an opportunity to meet other local dad’s and male carers.

Within local Children’s Centres across Middlesbrough, Sure Start are offering a wide range of services to help dads and male carers get involved with their children from pre-birth through to 5 years of age.

With dedicated Dads Support Workers in each locality our Children’s Centres can offer tailored and supportive sessions specifically for dads.

All sessions are developed to meet the targets set out by Every Child Matters linking in with Early Years Foundation Stage. Sessions can give the dads and male carers a setting in which to enhance their current skills as well as learning new skills and ideas. Sessions are also a valuable way for local dads and male carers to network and socialise with other like minded parents. Sessions are run by staff who can model new ideas in the groups and offer guidance as well as offering one to one support for the dads if needed.
