Search fees

To search our records we need the following information:

1. Date of death - at least the year if possible
2. Name of cemetery
3. Full name

Details of our search fees etc. are shown below. If we have accurate information we may not charge if the search is easy e.g. if you know the above details, otherwise if we have to search several cemeteries (we have 6) and more than one year we may have to charge you. 

Charges

For searching the burial or cremation records the following charges will apply:

a) For searching the registers one year  £7.00
b) Every additional year after the first  £4.00

Alternatives to search fees

Everyone has a right to search the burial records at the Cemeteries and Crematorium Office but only access to the Burial Register and Grave Register is permitted where the information does not contain any references to living people.

To make such a search an appointment must be made to visit the office. Please telephone the number below.

There are certain burial records available at the Teesside Archives office in Exchange Square, Middlesbrough which are accessible on microfilm free of charge. Their telephone number is 01642 248321 and their e mail address is teesside_archives@middlesbrough.gov.uk

Office hours: Mon – Friday 8.30 am to 5.00 pm (4.30 Friday)
