Council tax
Welcome to the section of the site dedicated to Council tax.
Your council tax helps to pay for many vital services. We want to make our services the best we possibly can and provide you with excellent value for money. Council tax replaced the community charge (also known as the 'poll tax') and came into effect in 1993.
Most domestic properties are subject to Council tax. One bill is issued per property, whether it is a house, bungalow, flat or maisonette and whether it is rented or owned.
