Scrutiny Chairs

	Councillor Jan Brunton Chair of the Overview and Scrutiny Board. The Chair is responsible for co-ordinating the Scrutiny process and directing the agenda of the Ad Hoc Scrutiny Panel which deals with corporate issues.
	Councillor Javed Ismail Chair of the Children and Learning Scrutiny Panel. The Chair is responsbile for co-ordinating the work of the panel and undertaking the Scrutiny of children's services and all education and learning matters.
	Councillor Pervaz Khan Chair of the Community Safety and Leisure Scrutiny Panel. The Chair is responsible for co-ordinating the work of the panel and undertaking the Scrutiny of all matters relating to community safety, crime and anti-social behaviour, community cohesion and leisure
	Councillor John Cole Chair of the Economic Regeneration and Transport Scrutiny Panel. The Chair is responsible for co-ordinating the work of the panel and undertaking the Scrutiny of all matters relating to regeneration, transport, housing infrastructure, culture and employment.
	Councillor Jeanette Walker Chair of the Environment Scrutiny Panel. The Chair is responsible for co-ordinating the work of the panel and undertaking the Scrutiny of all matters relating to the environment and neighbourhood services.
	Councillor Eddie Dryden Chair of the Health Scrutiny Panel. The Chair is responsible for co-ordinating the work of the panel and undertaking the Scrutiny of any issue in relation to health, including Scrutiny of the NHS under powers contained in the Health and Social Care Act 2001 and NHS Act 2006.
	Councillor Peter Purvis Chair of the Social Care and Adult Services Scrutiny Panel. The Chair is responsible for co-ordinating the work of the panel and undertaking the Scrutiny of any issue in relation to social care. Themes which would be covered by this panel would include: social well-being, care facilities and personal social services.
