Council budget and expenditure
Council budget
In the autumn of 2007 central government announced its spending plans for the next three years. The funding provided for Local Government and Middlesbrough Council over this period will be very tight. Despite this, the Council is determined to stick with its aims of keeping tax increases to a reasonable level and investing in front line services, for 2008 to 2011.
The council has continued to consult widely about its budget policies, council tax levels and medium term financial plans, with residents at public meetings, members of the council, local businesses, partner organisations and council employees.
Details of the 2008/09 budget can be found in the downloads section on this page.
