Middlesbrough Town-wide Surveys


The Council conducts a number of local town-wide surveys including the Voiceover Citizens’ Panel, Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Survey, Contact Centre Survey and (soon) the new Place Survey (replacing the Best Value surveys).

Quality of Life Indicators and Area Profile for Middlesbrough

The Audit Commission produces a number of quality of life indicators for local authorities. These indicators are available on their Area Profiles website. In addition, the Council produces a number of quality of life indicators of special significance to Middlesbrough, to complement the Audit Commission indicators.

Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) 2007 – Middlesbrough Maps

The Index of Multiple Deprivation 2007 combines a number of indicators chosen to cover a range of economic, social and housing issues into a single deprivation score for each small area in England. The IMD is maintained by the Department of Communities and Local Government and can be accessed from their website www.communities.gov.uk

The Council has produced a range of maps that show the level of deprivation for Middlesbrough wards. The maps show the overall level of deprivation for each ward as well for each of the specific deprivation domains of the index.
