They will also deal with any other matters of evident concern that they find in relation to the health, safety and welfare of staff, customers and other persons using the premises. Please follow the links above for further advice provided by the Health and Safety Executive.

In March 2008 over 800 businesses were sent a health and safety business pack as part of an Alternative Inspection Strategy. The purpose of this was to enable businesses to determine for themselves whether they are doing enough to comply with health and safety law and to identify any shortfalls. See download section at the side of this page for a copy of our Self Assessment Questionnaire to enable to you to audit your business.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) covers workplaces such as building sites, factories, farms, mines, hospitals, Local Government and Central Government premises and other places where there is a work activity. HSE is also responsible for enforcement where the home is the place of work. If your enquiry is about any of these places please contact your nearest HSE office. Alternatively, you can contact them through the Health and Safety Executive website.

Please contact us if you are uncertain of the enforcing authority for your premises or to complain about health and safety standards, to report accidents at work, or for advice on health and safety matters. Our contact telephone number is 01642 728666.
