Smokefree

Smokefree

The purpose of the smokefree legislation is to protect public health by reducing exposure to second hand smoke.

The Health Act 2006 requires virtually all ‘enclosed’ and ‘substantially enclosed’ public places and workplaces, and work vehicles to be smoke free by law. In Middlesbrough the legislation is enforced by officers of the Community Protection Service from Middlesbrough Council.
