The Council has two specialist vehicles to deal with graffiti. We remove all graffiti from public property on a regular basis and on instruction from private property. The graffiti is normally removed by the use of a  mixture of high pressure water and chemcial. In some site condition the overpainting of the graffiti is a fastest and more appealing solution. The Council work with Cleveland Youth Offending Service to carry out weekly checks a regular hot spots and the service have ' adopted ' the towns subways.

We carry out regular patrols to known hot spots, work with community groups and respond to requests for removal from the public received via the Call Centre.

We will remove offensive or racist graffiti within 1 day, all other graffiti from public property within 2 working days.
