Middlesbrough Council – An Investor in People

Middlesbrough Council is an IiP employer with all departments meeting the IiP standrad.
Our Councillors have also achieved accreditation in their own right. Middlesbrough Councillors were the first Councillors in the North of England to receive IiP accreditation under the new, more rigorous Standard mentioned below.

Next Steps

The next step is for the Council as a whole to aim to achieve Corporate IiP accreditation, and this is scheduled to take place in October 2008.

The IiP Standard
The Standard is based up of 3 principals;

IiP is a business improvement tool, a standard of best practice for the management of an organisation and is based upon a model of continuous improvement.

The IIP standard is made up of ten performance indicators, which are based upon three principals; plan, do and review.

Investor in People

1. Plan – develop strategies to improve performance of the organisation;

2. Do – take action to improve the performance of the organisation; and

3. Review – evaluate the impact on the performance of the organisation.
