Bookstart Day Friday 10th October
Bookstart baby day celebrations begin this week with the theme of Pirates Ahoy! A national programme encouraging parents and carers to enjoy books with children from as early an age as possible, Bookstart operates in partnership with Libraries, Sure Start and the Primary Care Trust.
Through Bookcrawl initiative, under fives can earn stickers and attractive certificates for reading books. From Monday 6th Oct children joining the Bookcrawl or starting a new Bookcrawl at their local library can claim a free Bookstart bear as a reward, while stocks last!
