Mobile and Housebound Services
Can’t get to your local library ? Then we’ll come to you !
Mobile Services
We offer a mobile library service for customers who cannot easily get to a branch library.
The mobile library stops at selected sites within the town and also visits community centres and nursing day care centres. Our specially adapted vehicle is also fitted with a lift.
Services available on the mobile library include a range of books for both adults and children. There is also a selection of talking books, videos and DVDs available for hire.
Any item which is already in stock in a Middlesbrough library can be requested free of charge.
Housebound Services
Don’t worry if you are housebound for whatever reason and can’t get to your library. We can make sure you still get the books you want by coming out to you.
Our housebound library service delivers books and talking books direct to your home free of charge.
Initially, we will visit you in your home to discuss your reading/listening requirements. You will then be visited on a regular basis with items that have been selected according to your tastes.
The service can either be permanent or temporary, for example, during a period of recuperation.
