Football Development Centres
Middlesbrough Council's Football Development Centres run across 3 leisure venues in Middlesbrough providing high quality coaching sessions for children of all abilities aged between 4 – 14 years old.
The main aim of the centres is to give every child the opportunity to play football and improve their skills in a safe and organised environment, with a chance to progress to play for a local Sunday League football team.
The Development Centres sessions take place Monday – Friday between 4pm and 7pm and Saturdays 9am –1pm during School term time (No coaching during school holidays). At the End of each term children will be presented with a certificate and at the end of the season (July) each child will receive a trophy.
The 3 Development Centres venues are:
- Acklam Sports Centre
- Rainbow Leisure Centre
- Southlands Leisure Centre
There will be 2 events throughout the year for children who are registered to the development centres –
Football Christmas Party – Saturday 20th December 2008. 3 Bouncy castles, beat the goalie, cross bar challenge, target practice and much more.
Summer Soccer Tournaments – Saturday 11th & 18th July 2009. Children can show off what they’ve learnt in a fun a relaxed mini soccer tournament against teams from the other development centres
Coaches are CRB checked, F.A qualified and working towards their Uefa Licences.
