Men only aqua circuit
The Rainbow Leisure Centre in Coulby Newham is launching a new, men only Aqua Circuit class for those who want to give a water-based activity a try.
Aqua Circuit is ideal for complete beginners or for men who want to add another dimension to their training programme. It is suitable for people of all ages and abilities as participants can work at a variety of levels by increasing effort and using resistance equipment.
Exercise in water is commonly acknowledged as a widely accessible activity that provides good cardio vascular and muscular exercise with minimal risk of injury - body weight in water is decreased by 75-90%.
Unlike land-based circuit training Aqua Circuit is low impact and the cushioning effect of the water protects joints in the spine, ankle, hip and knees.
It is a circuit-based session in the pool that can maintain and improve stamina, strength and suppleness as well as increasing cardiovascular fitness and developing bone and muscle strength.
Classes will be held on Thursdays from 6pm to 7pm. An introductory offer of only £1 a session is available for the first three weeks starting Thursday 18th February.
