What they do: Support the development of the digital industries in the North East of England.

What they offer: New package support offering skills and expertise to non-digital companies for free. The package consists of: initial contact meeting to discuss and identify your digital requirements, research and development of a tailored package of support, delivery of support package in the form of training, assessment of improved performance. Eligible SMEs must be based in the North East of England.

What they Do: Inward Investment

What they Offer: Growing Places is a loan fund which supports capital projects that will create growth, job creation and remove barriers to development in the local economy. The £4million fund is open to all businesses, private developers, public sector & partner enterprises based in or looking to invest in Tees Valley (Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees.

What they do: Giving businesses access to finance

What they offer: Supporting the backbone of the UK economy - Funding Circle launched in 2010 because of two key problems: (1) businesses were struggling to access finance, and (2) people were getting a poor return on their money. The answer seemed simple: why not make it possible for people to earn a return on their money by directly lending it to businesses looking for funding?

What they do: Business Support for Social Enterprises/CIC's

What they offer: Free business support to new and existing social enterprises helping embed a commercial, business minded culture that retains and prioritises its social values. The project aims to empower social enterprises to take advantage of market opportunities and improve their productivity, generating their own income and reducing dependence on grant income.

Who: Manufacturing Advisory Service

What they do: Help manufacturers streamline processes, reduce waste, become more energy efficient and generally improve and grow your business.

What they offer: 5 services; free helpdesk and research service, manufacturing review (free to SME's), events and networking, subsidised consultancy support for SME's, signposting and referrals.

Who: Business Enterprise Group

What they do: Investment for Growth

What they offer: This programme is funded through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for investment led growth plans. The fund will bring investment of around £10m into the economy providing 30/40% to eligible companies to undertake projects that will safeguard jobs (this will need to be business to business and not retail).
