Middlesbrough Council is committed to engaging with our citizens and involving them in the decision-making processes that affect their lives. 

The Council has a Consultation Portal - which is the home of our online consultation with the community. You can use the portal to find out about current consultations, take part in on-line surveys, see what happened as a result of past consultations and register your interest in future consultations.

The corporate consultation strategy

The corporate consultation strategy outlines the way the Council consults with the local community and citizens in making decisions that affect their lives. Citizen participation and rewards policy

This policy covers recognition, incentives, reimbursement of expenses and payments for service users, carers, volunteers and other citizens participating in Council consultation activities or involved in developing or advising on Council services. pdf icon Citizen Participation and Rewards Policy [363kb]

The policy is for use by elected members and Council officers with an interest in, or responsibility for community engagement as well as for citizens participating in Council service development or consultation activities.

Middlesbrough Partnership

The Middlesbrough Partnership, our Local Strategic Partnership, has two networks that co-ordinate the voluntary and community sector's involvement in partnership activities. They are the Middlesbrough Community Network and the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Community Network. 

Voluntary Organisations' Network North East (Vonne)

Vonne organises and works with a number of networks at a regional level.
