The trading standards service is responsible for the regulation of all businesses in Middlesbrough in areas such as unsafe goods, false descriptions, counterfeiting, consumer credit, pricing, under-age sales and weights and measures.

The aim of our service is to promote the economic vitality of Middlesbrough through encouraging fair competition and ensuring adequate protection for consumers.

We offer a diverse range of services for consumers and business customers including consumer and money advice.
