EMERGENCIES

When you or someone that you care for is having extreme mental health difficulties, you may need help very quickly.

Safety

If you are very concerned about your own physical safety, for example if the situation at home has become very threatening or actually violent, contact the ambulance, police or fire services by dialling 999.

Emergency mental health support

If you are unwell your GP (family doctor) can refer you to the help or services you need. Out of normal surgery hours, you can speak to a GP in Middlesbrough by calling 0845 6033131.

If you already use local mental health services, your care plan will include details of what to do and who to contact if you are unwell, such as your care co-ordinator or key worker.

Further information on what to do if you or someone you know needs emergency mental health support can be found here.

Contacting a social worker

If you have a situation out of office hours, please contact the Emergency Duty Team on 08702 402994.
