Middlesbrough has it's very own state of the art University which offers a wide range of facilities and excellent student accommodation. Teesside University specialises in a wide variety of subjects including forensic science, digital media, allied medical professions, among many others. | Middlesbrough College |
As well as the University, Middlesbrough College also offers excellent education and training provision. The College recently relocated from four sites to a single site at Middlehaven, between the town centre and the River Tees in the summer of 2008. The dramatic external appearance of the building has attracted lots of attention. Within the building there are plenty of facilities to make learning an exciting activity. Students have access to recording studios, practice rooms, dance and drama studios and a 156 seat theatre, a six-court sports hall, a fitness studio, art studios, hair and beauty salons, a spa suite, engineering and construction workshops, training kitchens, lecture theatres, science laboratories, a restaurant and many more facilities in which to learn the skills that can lead to rewarding careers. |

Free school meals - Save up to £320 a year with free school meals. If you and your partner receive benefits, and your child attends a school or college in Middlesbrough, you may be eligible for free school meals. If you wish to apply for free school meals the application forms are available by ringing 01642 726541. Grants and funding - Individual grants and funding opportunities are also available to help with career progression. You may be eligible for a grant of up to £200 if you live in Middlesbrough, are under 25 years of age and can provide a written endorsement from an educational establishment or tutor. Just 4 Youth - Just 4 Youth creates mechanisms for young people to be involved with, and be able to influence, service providers. They offer young person-led training which enables young people, the community and organisations to work better together.
