The Stockton Street workshops consist of 10 units ranging in size from 450 sq. ft. to 660 sq. ft. These units are available for hire under an easy-in easy-out licence agreement.

The workshops are located in Stockton Street, St. Hilda's. It is about four hundred yards from the town centre and even closer to the railway station. It is conveniently close to the busy enterprise zone.

Assistance and advice
The enterprise centre manager is based near by in the main centre and can provide a wide range of advice on business matters. One-to-one counselling is available to steer the business through the first few difficult months.

Communal workshop
Businesses in the Stockton Street workshops have use of the extensive range of plant and machinery available in the communal workshop at the main enterprise centre, as well as secretarial assistance if needed.

Facilities are also available for training, with staff available to give advice and instruction on their use.

The Stockton Street workshops provide 10 lock- up workshops. Users are given keys to the building so 24 hour access is available.

Each unit has its own electricity meter, fluorescent lighting, 13 amp socket outlets, provision for three-phase power and a water supply. Heating is not provided. Floors are finished in concrete, walls are either concrete block or plasterboard finish. Ceiling heights differ in the workshops but are generally more than 9'6".

On the first floor two small offices are available.

Communal facilities
Toilets and washing facilities are available in the main workshop corridor. On the first floor a small kitchen is available and a meeting room can also be used by licensees. A loading bay is provided at the rear of the building for deliveries and a large rubbish skip is emptied on request.

Security precautions have been included with a sophisticated intruder alarm fitted to all main doors.

Licensees make inclusive monthly payments, in advance, to cover the license fee and service charge. The latter is a contribution to the cost of the rates, services, cleaning and general maintenance of the building. The service charge does not include the cost of electricity consumed in the workshop or the rental and operation costs of separate telephone lines installed.
