25 May - Volunteers needed for Olympic and Jubilee events

Volunteers are being sought to help out at events this summer to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the London 2012 Olympics.
Middlesbrough is at the heart of the action, with a packed programme of entertainment lined up over the coming months.
The town is playing host to the Olympic Torch Relay, with a flagship Evening Celebration event on June 17, and communities across the town are laying on events to mark the Queen's 60 years on the throne.
Help is always needed - and there are great opportunities for people of all ages to gain invaluable experience, while having a fantastic time into the bargain.
Middlesbrough Council is keen to hear from anyone who would like to get involved, with applicants being placed on the Casual Volunteer Register for those wanting to get involved in individual events rather than commit to regular volunteering.
Those taking part can gain the key skills and experience that make them stand out from the crowd, while at the same time getting the satisfaction of putting something back into their local community.
Sharon Barker, Middlesbrough Council's Voluntary Sector Liaison Officer, said: "In the current climate, with competition for jobs fiercer than ever, the experience gained on a voluntary placement can prove invaluable.
"This summer we've got lots of events lined up for the Olympics and the Diamond Jubilee, and there will be plenty of opportunities for people to get involved and lend a hand.
"We're on the look-out for people with experience of setting up events, who get on with and enjoy meeting new people and who are keen to ensure others are having a good time.
"Volunteers have a great deal to offer the organisations and communities they work with, and in turn they stand to gain a great deal."
