New arrivals at Newham Grange

A leading Middlesbrough attraction has welcomed a number of new arrivals which are sure to be a hit over the summer months.

The animals at Newham Grange Country Farm are a huge draw for families from far and wide, and their numbers just keep on growing.

The latest additions are ten piglets born to the Farm's new Oxford Sandy and Black sow, a healthy new-born male donkey and a new baby llama.

They join Newham Grange's four Falabella miniature horses which arrived at the Coulby Newham farm earlier this month.

Falabellas, originally from Argentina, are one of the smallest horse breeds in the world and Middlesbrough's examples are among just a few thousand worldwide.

Newham Grange Duty Officer Richard Buckley said: "Newham Grange is a great day out for the whole family all year round, and the animals are one of our key attractions.

"The new arrivals are always popular, particularly with our younger visitors, and we're looking forward to welcoming lots of families, particularly during the current warm spell."

The café at the farm on Wykeham Way is now open every day from 10am to 4pm. It can also cater for birthday parties.
