The Boro Becks team are leading a special historic hike to mark the end of Local History Month

The Boro Becks team are leading a special historic hike to mark the end of Local History Month.

The hike on Thursday, May 31 will set off from the Southlands Centre at 10am, the route takes walkers through the National Trust's Ormesby Hall estate lands and the newly restored Stewart Park with stops at the hall, park and St Cuthbert's Church for expert talks about their history.

Chris Corbett, Community Outreach Officer, said "We followed this route last year but have added more drop in talks and organised a lovely free lunch at Nana Tom's Café. `

"The chance to hear about the long history of such iconic landscapes is a real treat, we're really grateful to the National Trust, Middlesbrough Council staff and local historians for making this possible."

Please dress for the weather. Sturdy boots with a good grip are recommended as some paths are muddy.

Booking is essential; please contact the Boro Becks Project on 01642 515618 or e-mail borobecks@middlesbrough.gov.uk
