A must-have brochure for an action-packed summer in Middlesbrough will be dropping through tens of thousands of letter boxes this week
A must-have brochure for an action-packed summer in Middlesbrough will be dropping through tens of thousands of letter boxes this week.
The colourful 'Summer of Celebration' brochure, produced by Middlesbrough Council, will be delivered to more than 60,000 homes in the town over the coming week.
The brochure details the key events in Middlesbrough which are part of the Diamond Jubilee, Olympic Torch Relay, 100 Days of Sport festival and other events in what promises to be a summer to remember in Middlesbrough.
It contains essential information including the route and times of The Olympic Torch Relay, details of the Team GB football match at the Riverside and a calendar so people can take part in 100 Days of Sport.
The brochure also encourages people to send in what new activity they are doing in Middlesbrough in 2012. One will be selected at random to win a prize.
Lisa Templeman, from Love Middlesbrough, said: "The brochure has all the information Middlesbrough residents need to know to be part of a fantastic summer of celebration.
"From the Olympic Torch Relay evening celebration in Centre Square to the Riverside Stadium being the only place to see the Team GB football team before the Games start it is going to be a really exciting time to be in Middlesbrough.
"We hope people find the brochure really useful and enjoy the summer more as a result.
"We're also really keen to encourage people to use the summer events as a chance to try something new and we hope to see 50,000 people involved in Middlesbrough in 2012!"
As well as being delivered to resident's homes the brochure will be available to pick-up in council venues including the Tourist Information Centre, libraries, mima and leisure centres across the town.
