A new website dedicated to helping people in Middlesbrough get into work has been launched.
The Work Middlesbrough website has been created by Middlesbrough Council as part of a drive to improve employment in the town.
The website www.workmiddlesbrough.co.uk hosts a range of helpful guidance and information to assist people into employment, training, apprenticeships, volunteering and work experience.
There are also top tips on writing CVs and covering letters and crucial advice on how to succeed at interviews.
Councillor Charlie Rooney, Middlesbrough Council's Executive Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, said: "Middlesbrough Council is committed to improving the levels of employment in the town.
"This new website is an ideal portal for people to find out how they can get the right skills and experience which will make them attractive to employers.
"The website also has down-to-earth advice on getting it right with job searches, CVs and on the big interview day.
"I would urge anyone looking for work in Middlesbrough to visit the site."
The website is the latest addition in a number of council schemes to help improve employment in the town.
Middlesbrough Council, in partnership with the Tees Valley Unlimited and the four other Tees Valley councils, secured a share of £800,000 to help tackle young unemployment across the sub region.
This means the Middlesbrough Flexible Support Fund can help fund SME businesses operating in Middlesbrough to recruit an apprentice.
For further information on the Middlesbrough Flexible Support Fund contact Clare Elliott clare_elliott@middlesbrough.gov.uk 01642 729131.
The programme is delivered in conjunction with Jobcentre Plus, working with the Skills Funding Agency and existing networks.
