This coming Bank Holiday weekend, people in Middlesbrough are invited to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee by taking part in a Sky Ride Local ride
This coming Bank Holiday weekend, people in Middlesbrough are invited to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee by taking part in a Sky Ride Local ride, led by British Cycling trained Ride Leaders.
A number of Sky Ride Local rides are taking place in Middlesbrough; these free, organised rides are the perfect way for family and friends to get out and explore the local scenery.
Peter Riddell, Recreation Manager for British Cycling, said: 'Joining a Sky Ride Local ride is a brilliant way for friends and family to get out over the long bank holiday weekend. We've planned some of the best routes around Middlesbrough and it's a great way to see the area from the saddle.
The rides are a suitable for people of all ages and abilities. Don't worry if you've not been on a bike for a while, our friendly and experienced Ride Leaders are there to help and support you. Sky Ride Local rides offer people something different to do over the bank holiday.'
This year Sky Ride Local is bringing over 1,000 free bike rides to locations across the UK, as part of a national campaign by British Cycling and Sky to get one million more people on their bikes by 2013. Registering and taking part in a Sky Ride Local ride is a fantastic way to join the biggest celebration of cycling the UK has ever seen. Places on rides must be booked in advance.
