Business opportunities
Middlesbrough Council spends in the region of £100 million annually on goods, works and services. In addition to arranging its own contracts Middlesbrough Council has entered into a strategic partnership with HBS to provide a procurement service under the banner ‘Service Middlesbrough’. As a result tender opportunities may come directly from Middlesbrough Council or from Service Middlesbrough.
Middlesbrough Council encourages competition and welcomes bids from new and established suppliers. Contracts are generally awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous offer for the Council. Middlesbrough Council cannot discriminate in favour of local suppliers but they will be given every encouragement to compete for Middlesbrough Council contracts. The prospect of tendering with any public sector organisation, including Middlesbrough Council can be daunting for any supplier, especially any that are new to the whole tendering procedures. As a result, the How to do Business Guide (within the downloads section) has been produced to assist suppliers and contractors who wish to supply the Council with goods, works and services.
Business opportunities will be advertised on the following websites depending on the contract value:
| Work | Goods, Materials and Services | Consultants | Website advertised |
