South Tees Youth Offending Service
The South Tees Youth Offending Service is a multi agency team, working in the Local Authority areas of Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland. The YOS undertakes the supervision of young people between the ages of 10 and 17 years who are subject of Court Orders and Police Final Warnings. The aim of the YOS is to prevent offending and re-offending by young people.
In partnership with Safe in Tees Valley, the YOS works with young people who have been identified as being at risk of offending and some who are subject of Police Reprimands.
The YOS works with young people and their families and other agencies to develop a package of interventions to address the issues and behaviour that have contributed to the young person offending.
Additional services offered by the YOS to support young people involved in the criminal justice system include:
- Work in Court
- Intensive Supervision and Surveillance Programme
- Resettlement and Aftercare Provision
- Work with Parents and Carers
- Restorative Justice and Work with Victims of Crime
