Supporting people
The Supporting People programme offers vulnerable people the opportunity to improve their quality of life by providing a stable environment, which enables greater independence. The planning and development of services is based upon the needs of local people.
Supporting People is a working partnership of local government, health, probation, support providers and service users.
Supporting People delivers high quality housing related support services. The aim of 'housing related support' is to develop and sustain an individuals capacity to live independently in their accommodation. Some examples of housing related support are:
-
Help with managing money and paying bills
-
Help with understanding the rights and responsibilities of a tenancy agreement.
-
Signposting to other agencies - such as drug & alcohol services, education and employment agencies.
-
Provision of a community alarm service, or a warden or scheme manager
