Housing regeneration

Welcome to the Housing Regeneration section of the Council website.  Certain housing areas within the town are suffering from housing market failure through low demand, dereliction, poor housing conditions and lack of investment.  There is currently a major scheme ongoing in the town to combat this problem;

  • New Vision for Older Housing (please find the corresponding section in the navigation box on the left)

There are also a number of other schemes targeting specific areas of Middlesbrough; you can find detailed information on each area in the 'Housing regeneration areas' section (please refer to the navigation box on the left).

  • Grove Hill
  • Trinity Crescent/North Ormesby
  • St Hilda's
  • West Lane
  • Whinney Banks

Housing Regeneration works with local residents and community groups, developers, registered social landlords and other partners and stakeholders to address these issues.  Action plans are developed for housing renewal and sustainable housing regeneration schemes that will revitalise and restructure significant parts of the town.  A range of development and tenure solutions will provide opportunities for community development and ensure that Middlesbrough remains a place where people want to live for many years to come.

You are able to download the resident's charter and newsletter from the download section on the right hand side.
