What's on at the Dorman Museum 2008

Exhibition Description Dates (2008)
A Way with Words Display of new works by North Yorkshire Calligraphers.
(Free workship - ground floor gallery)

Pong to Kong

This fantastic exhibition traces the origins of electronic games from the earliest TV Pong up to the present day.  Get an insight into the design and creation of a modern game.  Includes loads of actual games to play.  One not to miss!  (ground floor gallery)

WW1 90

Exhibition commemorating the 90th anniversary of the end of World War 1.  (first floor gallery)

Activity Sheet To go with our exhibition 'North Face', from the National Portrait Gallery in London, we have devised a free portrait activity for you to try out your drawing skills.  
A Way with Words

Calligraphy workshops for children and adults - 10am to 3.30pm

October 4th
Henry  Bolckow Lecture The lecture – “Henry Bolckow (1806-1878) Man of iron and prince of culture: a Victorian collector and his collection reassembled” – will be presented by Ian Stubbs, assistant curator for Middlesbrough Museums and Galleries Service. November 19th - 6pm

The museum has 3 children's trails to follow throughout the museum:

  • Catch the Creatures;
  • Find the People and
  • Hunt the Lions.

Great value at only 5p each. 

Please note that all children must be accompanied by an adult to gain entry to the museum.
