Change in income

Have you had a change in the DWP benefit you receive?

If you stop receiving a benefit such as Jobseeker's Allowance, Income Support, Employment and Support Allowance, or Pension Credits (please note, this list is not exhaustive), you must inform us straight away. You must also inform us if you're changing from one benefit to another - eg from Jobseeker's Allowance to Employment and Support Allowance.

If you or someone in your household have had a break in your benefits for any reason, and have not been working, you'll need to provide proof of your income in order for housing benefit and Council Tax Reduction to be paid.

If anyone in your household has been working during a break in their benefits, you'll need to provide their payslips for the period they were working.

If you or someone in your household have claimed a benefit and are waiting for this to be paid, please complete the form below to confirm what your current weekly income is.

Your weekly income may be nil, as you're waiting for the benefit to be paid, or if you have children, it may be Child Benefit and Child Tax Credit only. Please tell us what your income is and what benefits you've claimed.

Have you or someone in your household had a change in their income from employment?

If you or anyone in your household have had a change in the number of hours you work, your hourly rate of pay, or an increase / decrease in your wages, you must tell us.

We'll need to see the first 5 weekly payslips if you're paid weekly, 3 fortnightly payslips if you're paid every fortnight, or 1 monthly / 4-weekly payslip if you're paid monthly or every four weeks. You must also provide proof of your wages once received.

Please note, if you're paid weekly, please upload all 5 payslips once you've received them. If you're paid fortnightly, please upload all 3 fortnightly payslips once you've received them.

If you don't receive payslips from your employer, you can ask them to complete a form. The form will need to be printed and given to your employer to complete, sign and stamp. Once completed, you can upload it and send it to us.

Have you or someone in your household started work?

If you or someone in your household has started work, you need to tell us straight away. If you've started work and were previously receiving a benefit for 26 weeks or more with no breaks, you may be entitled to an extended payment of 4 weeks.

Complete the started work online form and request an extended payment.

Until you receive your payslips, we can only provisionally assess your claim based on the information you provide regarding your new income.
