Coronavirus (COVID-19) - wedding and civil partnership ceremonies
End of coronavirus restrictions - from 19 July 2021
Following the removal of all coronavirus restrictions on 19 July 2021, we will include the following at marriage ceremonies if requested:
- a standard but meaningful script (covering the legislative requirements), which can be followed by the exchange of personal vows, to be provided by couples, to be read out after the ring exchange
- an opportunity for a reading
- a choice of music, either chosen from the Register Office's collection or provided by the wedding party, to be played via Bluetooth (subject to the availability of technology)
- a guest to act as a ring bearer or to give the bride or groom away, with bridesmaids and flower girls if requested
We do recommended that face coverings are worn in the building, but this is no longer a legal requirement. We also ask that each guest uses hand sanitiser after entering the building.
Social distancing rules have been lifted so ceremony rooms will be able to hold their maximum capacity. For the Erimus room, this is 50 guests, and for the Victoria room, this is 16 guests. These numbers are subject to future government announcements and changes.
Our phone lines are currently extremely busy. If you want to cancel or reschedule your booking, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, with the date of your ceremony in the email subject line.
We're monitoring the situation on a daily basis and would like to thank you for your patience and understanding.
