Community Asset Transfer

England is now in lockdown again. A number of businesses must close and there are more restrictions on meeting people. Find out what this means for you.

A Community Asset Transfer is when the council hands over community facilities which are no longer required for council use to local groups and third sector organisations for the benefit of the community.

Current transfers

The council is currently progressing transfers on the following buildings:

  • 2-5 Langdon Square to Coulby Newham Baptist Church

  • Hemlington Depot to Hemlington Juniors Football Club

  • Hemlington Recreation Centre to Tees Valley Community Asset Preservation Trust

Completed transfers

Transfers which have been completed to date are:

  • International Centre to the Centre's Management Committee

  • Langdon Square Community Centre to the Centre's management committee

  • ​Linthorpe Cemetery Lodge to Groundwork

  • Mill Hill playing fields to Raw Foundation and Cleveland Juniors Football Club
  • Newham Grange Leisure Farm to Askham Bryan College

  • Pallister Park Centre to Southlands Judo

  • Saltersgill Allotments to Saltersgill Allotment Association
  • Stewart Park Henry's Café, the Visitor Centre and Animal Enclosures to Askham Bryan College

  • Stewart Park Vocational Training Centre and Central Lodge to Askham Bryan College

  • Thorntree Park Pavilion to Cargo Fleet Juniors Football Club
