Middlesbrough Council recruits and employs apprentices across all departments, and in a variety of different roles.

Apprenticeships with Middlesbrough Council offer career opportunities for school and college leavers, or those looking to retrain. Our apprenticeships begin at level 2 (equivalent to 5 GCSEs) for entry-level positions, with the opportunity to progress to level 7 (equivalent to a Master's degree) in some areas. Find out more about the apprenticeships we offer.

We have a long history of employing apprentices in all areas of the council, with most moving on to full time positions. In fact, our current Chief Executive, Tony Parkinson, started his career with Middlesbrough Council as a trainee in the finance department.

We're currently making some changes to the apprenticeship information on our website. To find out more about apprenticeships, call Paul Greatorex on 01642 728739 or email
