Going into care

Sometimes parents can't look after their children as well as they should. There are lots of different reasons why that might happen. If that happens with your parents, you might go into care. Being 'in care' means we'll find you somewhere else to live, not with your parents.

It might be because it's not safe for you to stay living at home. Or it might be because your parents tell us they can't look after you properly right now.

The important thing is that we're taking you into care because we want to make sure all children in Middlesbrough grow up in a safe home and are well looked after.

If we have to find you somewhere else to live, there are three different things that might happen:
