Tattoo, piercing, acupuncture, and cosmetic treatment registration

If you offer tattooing, semi-permanent skin colouring, cosmetic piercing, acupuncture, or electrolysis in Middlesbrough, you must be registered with our Public Protection Service.

The premises used for cosmetic treatments must also be registered.

Once you're registered, we'll issue you with a certificate of registration, which should be displayed at your place of work.

Email EHTS@middlesbrough.gov.uk to tell us about a change to your existing registration.

What happens next?

After receiving your completed application and fee, an officer will contact you to arrange a visit to your premises to ensure they are safe and legal, prior to issuing your registration certificate.
