Litter and dog waste bins will be checked on a regular basis. The frequency of litter and dog waste bin emptying will be determined by location and need, however all bins will be emptied at least once per week.
When a damaged bin is reported, it will be dealt with as follows:
- Minor damage will be repaired within 2 working days
- Burnt out and seriously damaged bins will be removed within 1 working day
Where it is deemed appropriate to replace a damaged bin, a replacement should be in place within 5 working days.

Request for new bins
When requests are received for the installation of new litter or dog waste bins, an officer will visit the location and assess whether it is a suitable location for a bin. New bins will be installed in areas where they will make a positive impact on street cleanliness. If a particular location is not deemed to be suitable, the frequency of street cleansing may be reviewed.
