Fed-up residents and damning CCTV footage helped secure Middlesbrough's latest victory in the war on fly-tippers. The culprit was caught red-handed dumping furniture and other household waste, and was hit with a £400 fine.

Eye-catching art for town centre after funding boost

Several new artists' commissions are coming to Middlesbrough thanks to a bumper Arts Council funding boost. The installations will appear in two phases with the majority positioned in the town centre. The project was initiated by Creative Factory and delivered by Navigator North, a Tees Valley-based artist-led organisation.

More support to tackle spike in Covid cases

Middlesbrough and the rest of the North East will receive extra national support to tackle high Covid infection rates. The Department of Health and Social Care is to confirm the region will become an 'enhanced response area'.
