Green waste collections will resume in Middlesbrough from next week.
The service will return from Tuesday (April 19) with the latest bin collection and recycling calendars now available to view and download from the Middlesbrough Council website.
Residents are reminded to check the calendar to see when their next collection is due, and that excess bags of green waste will not be collected.
- Only bins will be emptied - all green waste must be contained within the bin
- No bags or sacks – including those previously issued by the Council for garden waste – will be collected
- Strictly green/organic waste only – rubble/builders’ waste will not be collected
Residents are also reminded that excess green waste can also be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centre at Haverton Hill – appointments for the HWRC can be booked online.
Councillor Barrie Cooper, Middlesbrough Council’s Executive member for Environment, Finance and Governance, said: “After a challenging couple of years we’re getting back to business as usual, and that will be music to the ears of local gardeners.
“Temperatures are finally starting to climb and lawns need their first cut, so I’m delighted to confirm that garden waste collections resume next week.
“I’d urge all residents to check their calendars to ensure they know their collection date, and only put out waste suitable for recycling as appropriate.”
