Middlesbrough residents are being encouraged to shop local this Valentine's Day.
Middlesbrough Council has launched its ‘Love Your Town' campaign to support small businesses still operating during the latest lockdown.
The Council will be sharing special Valentine's Day offers from businesses, including takeaway/delivery meals and gift ideas.
The campaign will continue throughout February, in an attempt to give small businesses a boost at a time when they need it most.
To celebrate the launch of the campaign, Independent Teesside is offering 50% off membership card purchases on Sunday, February 14.
The offer will be valid for the first 100 cards purchased only.
The Independent Teesside card offers discounts at over 120 independent businesses across Middlesbrough and the wider Tees Valley. Visit the Independent Teesside website to purchase a membership.
Michelle McPhee, Middlesbrough Council's Town Centre Manager, said: "This latest lockdown has been a terrible blow for our local businesses, and the local families who own and work in them.
"Middlesbrough Council is committed to supporting our small business community, and we'd encourage everyone to show some support this Valentine's Day and beyond, if they're able to do so."
The Middlesbrough Gift Card is another great option for a Valentine's Day or birthday gift.
This gift card works in the same way as a department store card, but is valid in a range of businesses across Middlesbrough.
The card can be loaded with a monetary value of your choice. Visit the Middlesbrough gift card website for more information and to purchase.
