Middlesbrough residents with real Christmas trees this year are being urged to support the Teesside Hospice recycling scheme. The Linthorpe-based hospice is being supported by Middlesbrough Council in its scheme which will help local families who have been affected by terminal illness.
A handyperson team who help Middlesbrough's older, disabled or vulnerable residents live more independently in their own homes have been recognised for their work. The award, from the National Healthy Housing Awards 2020, recognises excellent practice in delivering handyperson services.
A new chapter in the history of the Transporter Bridge would be decided following a public consultation, under plans to be put to Middlesbrough Council’s Executive. The bridge, which opened in 1911, has been closed for 16 months due to serious safety concerns.
