Improvement works are under way on a busy Teesside junction which will include the need for overnight closures.
The ongoing works at the A19 Mandale interchange are to partially signalise the slip roads, and create improved pedestrian and cycle crossings, creating a safer link between Acklam and Thornaby.
The improvements have been fully funded from Tees Valley Combined Authority's Local Growth Fund; aiming to improve sustainable transport across the region.
Works are scheduled to last until Spring 2021 and will require road closures on the A19 to allow safe working over the carriageway. Due to the volume of traffic on the A19, works requiring road closures will be required to be undertaken overnight to avoid traffic disruption.
During the construction period, evening works will be intermittent, between Sunday 7.30pm and Friday 6am. There is no intention to work on during the night on Fridays or Saturdays.
