RingGo car parking payment service

RingGo lets you pay for your parking with the RingGo app on your phone, rather than using cash at a ticket machine.

First, choose where you want to park - there will be signs telling you the location code, which you'll need to enter into RingGo. Choose the vehicle you'd like to park there, and how long for. Pay the parking fee, and off you go!

With RingGo, you don't have to:

  • carry change
  • visit a parking machine
  • walk back to your car with a parking ticket - Civil Enforcement Officers can check which vehicles have paid for parking using RingGo
  • worry about your parking ticket running out - you can extend your parking on the go

Registering

add

You can register either on the RingGo website or by downloading the RingGo app.

When you register, you'll need to enter:

  • details of your vehicle (the number plate, colour, and make)
  • your payment details

Ways to use RingGo to pay for parking

add

There are several ways to pay for parking with RingGo:

  • via the app
  • by calling the phone service
  • by text message
  • through the internet (either via a mobile or PC)

RingGo app

You can download the RingGo app from the App Store (Apple), Google Play Store (Android), or App Gallery (Huawei).

Automated phone service

To use the automated phone service, call the number on the sign when you want to park. RingGo will recognise your mobile phone number and ask you to:

  • confirm the vehicle you want to park
  • confirm the location where you want to park
  • say how long you want to stay
  • provide the security code from your registered payment card

Text to park

You can use the RingGo 'text to park' option by sending a text message to 81025.

Your message will need to begin with 'RingGo', followed by your location number, the length of time you want to park for, and the security code on your payment card. For instance, sending a message with 'RingGo 4140 2h 867' will park your nominated vehicle for 2 hours in the Linthorpe Road East area.

Always be aware of any time restrictions in the area you've chosen to park in.

Internet options

You can also use the RingGo website to pay for your parking by logging in online and filling in the details. You can visit the website from any mobile phone or tablet with internet access, or a laptop or desktop computer.

Cost

add

There is no charge for registering with RingGo or downloading and using the RingGo app.

When you park with RingGo, you pay a 10p convenience charge on top of the normal charge for wherever you park. The parking charge will be shown on your monthly credit/debit card statement.

If you call RingGo, you're charged the standard local number rate.

If you use the RingGo 'text to park' option, you'll pay for the text message at your standard rate. You'll also pay 10p for the automatic text message which confirms your parking details. Any further optional parking confirmation messages and reminder texts (alerting you when your session is about to run out), cost 10p per message.

Extending your parking

add

You can easily extend your parking session when you use RingGo. Just log into the website or open the app, choose your parking session, and click the extend button.

Remember that in some areas, there are limits on how long you can park, so you may not be able to extend your parking.

VAT receipts

add

If you need a VAT receipt for your RingGo parking session, you can view and print it online by logging into the RingGo website. If you provide them with your email address, you can opt to receive a receipt automatically every time you park.
