We're running a consultation to ask the people of Middlesbrough for their views on the future of transport in the town. It's part of a long-term approach to making sure that the local transport network meets the needs and ambitions of the coming years and decades.
Our Local Implementation Plan (LIP) contains a range of strategies which support our strategic objectives: people, place, and business. The LIP aims to balance the need for growth and economic prosperity with improvements which will minimise the impact that traffic growth has on the town.
It focuses on approaches which will influence travel choices, and opportunities to improve accessibility for all. It also supports the Tees Valley Combined Authority's Strategic Transport Plan.
Key objectives include:
- reducing the number, and severity, of casualties
- minimising congestion and improving traffic flow
- improving local air quality
- removing transport as a barrier to accessing jobs, education and training, leisure, and retail
You can have your say by taking part in the consultation online.
The consultation will run from Monday 26 July 2021 until Friday 3 September 2021.
