Green Homes Grant energy efficiency scheme

The risks of coronavirus remain high. To keep everyone safe, please stay cautious. Get the latest information about coronavirus.

If you're a homeowner, you can apply for up to £10,000 of works to increase the energy efficiency of your home, and save money on your fuel bills. The Green Homes Grant scheme offers free energy efficiency measures including:

  • air source heat pumps
  • solar panels
  • replacement of single-glazed windows
  • external wall and loft insulation

Improvements are available through the Green Homes Grant and Local Authority Delivery Scheme, and are installed by E.ON.

You may be eligible for support if:

  • you're a homeowner
  • your property has an energy efficiency rating of D, E, F, or G
  • your household income is less than £30,000

Landlords may also be eligible for up to £5,000 towards improvements to a tenanted property, but the landlord will be expected to make a contribution towards the total cost.

To check if you're eligible and see what improvements could be made to your home, visit the E.ON website.

You can also call E.ON on 0333 202 4820 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm).

What happens if I qualify?

If you're eligible, an E.ON assessor will visit your home to decide on the best energy efficiency measures, or mix of different measures, for you. They'll discuss the options with you and explain more about them. Then they'll book your installation, and a TrustMark-registered installer will come out to your home and do the rest.
