Middlesbrough Council has commissioned Thirteen to deliver a social lettings agency. It aims to assist households to access private rented accommodation by providing a bond or bond guarantee to the landlord.
To be eligible for the scheme, applicants must be homeless or threatened with homelessness. Priority is given to those from Middlesbrough, and those with, or expecting, children, or those who have a vulnerability such as a disability or a serious mental health issue. However, assistance can also be given to homeless people deemed to be non-priority, intentionally homeless, or without a local connection under homelessness legislation.
