Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) is one of a series of documents councils need to prepare under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (as amended 2008 and 2012).

The SCI explains how we involve the community when we're preparing our Local Development Plan documents, and when we're considering planning applications.

We adopted our revised SCI on 17 March 2020 and in September 2022 we made some minor amendments.

If you're struggling to view the documents, copies are available to look at in libraries and Community Hubs, and at Middlesbrough House.
