Have you got the bottle?

The risks of coronavirus remain high. To keep everyone safe, please stay cautious. Get the latest information about coronavirus.

Have you got the bottle to recycle? Of course you have! Grab your empties, give them a quick rinse and add them to your blue lid bin for your next collection day.

You can recycle:

  • glass bottles of all colours
  • plastic bottles
  • shampoo bottles
  • washing up liquid bottles
  • bleach bottles
  • milk bottles

Did you know? A recycled plastic bottle can not only become another plastic bottle. It could also be turned into a t-shirt, a jumper, a sleeping bag, or even playground equipment. Each time you add an empty bottle to your bin, you're not only protecting and improving our environment in Middlesbrough, you're also helping to save the planet and who doesn't have the bottle for that!

Remember you can also recycle bottles at the Household Waste Recycling Centre in Haverton Hill. The bottle recycling is on the left hand side as you drive past the check-in point and before you reach the mini roundabout. Book your appointment before you go and please ensure you take ID with you.

If you have an item and you're not sure if you can recycle it, remember to check the recycling directory. The directory is quick and easy to use - click the letters at the top of the page and find your item by name or material.
